On Friday, March 2, 2018, Ambler Avenue Elementary High Achieving Gifted Magnet will be participating in the Read Across America campaign.
Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on or around Dr. Seuss’ birthday. By listening to parents, community members, and other adults share favorite stories, students realize that reading is an enjoyable activity.
The Ambler Avenue Read Across America committee would like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in this endeavor by visiting our school as a guest reader.
As a Read Across America guest reader, you may read to a single classroom or to several. We will provide you with grade-appropriate stories or you may bring a treasured favorite appropriate for elementary grade students. We are in the process of building our library and would appreciate if you would donate a hard covered book.
If you are interested in volunteering as a Read Across America guest reader, please respond to the office staff, Mrs. De Haro or Mrs. Devera, at (310) 532-4090. We need your response by Monday, February 26, 2018. We will call you to confirm your attendance. We encourage you to come and spend the day. Please support our Celebration of Reading. Parking is available around the perimeter of the school. Parking Tickets will not be given on this day!
Location: Ambler Avenue Elementary High Achieving Gifted Magnet Time: 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Date: Friday, March 2, 2018
